Her interest in writing began in a tenth-grade creative writing class. The teacher focused on how to develop characters, and settings for short stories. That class stirred Pam's delightful imagination and provided her with the opportunity to write about local people and places. People like the late Martha Berry. Places like Mountain Springs. On completion of that class, Pam knew she would write stories about the history, unique charm, and wonderful people of Rome. Many of those people, such as the late Helen Dean Rhodes, made an indelible impression on her. Mis Rhodes was Pam's piano teacher.
